I’m a convention noob. There I said it. I’ve been to a few, but I don’t know what to do or expect. I took breaks from the Extra Life Houston booth to walk around. Armed with 550D and switching between the Tamron 17mm-50mm f2.8 and the Canon 50mm f1.8, I took some choice shots at Comicpalooza.

Brandishing impressively crafted gear, quite a few Ghostbusters roamed the Comicpalooza. They even had a fully decked out Ecto-1. If only they can get me some Ecto Coolers.




They found the droids they were looking for, but they didn’t stop there!

Out in full force, the undead horde celebrated Comicpalooza’s Year of the Zombie!





The level of costume quality and design is just top-notch. Also, it helps that a lot of these people are good looking.














Then there’s this guy who put everyone into shame.

The world didn’t end on May 21, but I did run into a bunch of zombies! Well, I didn’t encounter REAL zombies. I probably wouldn’t make it out alive since I didn’t have my swords with me at the time. I need to remember to always carry my swords…

Comicpalooza and the Houston-Bayou Zombie Walk joined forces to bring a zombie themed pub crawl! This leads up to Comicpalooza’s theme, the Year of the Zombie!

Best part? Watching the yuppies at Midtown looking at the zombies in shock while they go from bar to bar.
