The rifle is the first weapon you learn how to use, because it lets you keep...
– -Leon the Professional
This quote from my favorite movies rings true for killing people AND photographing people. I like making parallels between assassination and photography. You can change it to:
The telephoto lens is the first weapon you learn how to use, because it lets you keep your...

Nerding The Hell Out At Comicpalooza
I’m a convention noob. There I said it. I’ve been to a few, but I don’t know what to do or expect. I took breaks from the Extra Life Houston booth to walk around. Armed with 550D and switching between the Tamron 17mm-50mm f2.8 and the Canon 50mm f1.8, I took some choice shots at Comicpalooza. Brandishing impressively crafted gear, quite a few Ghostbusters roamed the Comicpalooza. They even had a...

Zombies!
The world didn’t end on May 21, but I did run into a bunch of zombies! Well, I didn’t encounter REAL zombies. I probably wouldn’t make it out alive since I didn’t have my swords with me at the time. I need to remember to always carry my swords…

And if video games have thought me anything, it’s that everything is up for grabs until you are over-encumbered....

Zoom Om Nom Nom: Haute Wheels Houston
“Don’t die of food poisoning!”

Houston is going through a renaissance in street eats. You can find gourmet trucks everywhere, whether cruising through the...

Cast In Plastic: Art from the Designer Toy...
I dropped by Domy Books last Saturday to check out one of the coolest art exhibitions I’ve seen. Cast In Plastics showcases custom toy designs from over thirty global artists. I took time admiring and capturing the artwork, but I couldn’t help but take pictures of the patrons, who are almost as interesting as the artwork themselves.
For more pictures, click...

Houston Instagram Meetup
It’s always refreshing being with other photographers. You feel at ease being around people who have curious eyes and a voracious need to document everything around them. I was the odd one in the group and decided to document everything with my DSLR, Diana+ and my FujiFilm Instax. I get the same sharing thrill whether a shot is shared via Instagram or an Instax print being passed around.
